Elite Special Forces Unit Of The Czech Flew To Afghanistan

Czech Defense Ministry did not say where, exactly, will the elite special forces unit deployed. "We do not want to specify the exact location, but I can say that Special Forces will be located in the east of Afghanistan," – said the head of Czech Television Defense Minister Alexandr Vondra. The soldiers will stay in Afghanistan until next summer. Earlier, the Czech government adopted a plan of operation of the Czech military missions abroad by 2013.

 In particular, the 2011 national number of troops in Afghanistan of 720 soldiers in 2012 – 640. In operations in Afghanistan involved a multinational contingent of anti-terrorist coalition, which is headed by representatives of the command of U.S. forces, as well as a contingent of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (International Security Assistance Force – ISAF), commanded by NATO representatives. 

The main objectives of both contingent on the approval of their management – search and destroy force in Afghanistan, militants of the Islamic movement "Taliban" and an international terrorist group "Al-Qaeda." 

The reason for the start of the operation the U.S. and its allies in Afghanistan served as a terrorist attack by militants, "Al-Qaeda," September 11, 2001 in New York, when with the help of two captured terrorists passenger aircraft were destroyed World Trade Center towers.
